Qatar is counting down the minutes until the opening whistle of the 2022 World Cup, which will be the first ever held in the Middle East.
Ahead of the tournament, FIFA President Gianni Infantino held the traditional press conference, which made headlines and not necessarily for the right reasons.
Many criticisms are leveled at the host of the tournament due to the human rights issues in the country, the treatment of the actual immigrants and the fact that thousands of them lost their lives during the preparations for the tournament. To lower the flames regarding the discourse on discrimination, Infantino used a particularly puzzling world of images: "Today I feel Qatari, I feel Arab, African, gay and limited.
I feel like a migrant worker."

Infantino said in Doha that he knows what it's like to be persecuted, because as a child he was bullied for being a redhead.
He also added that the Europeans have no right to teach the Qataris about morality because of their actions in the last thousand years.
He claims that there is no uniformity in the criticism that the world directs towards Qatar, while in other countries the same issues exist: "A migrant worker in Qatar earns more than he would earn in his homeland".
