One person died and 16 were injured Monday morning when an SUV crashed into an Apple store in Boston, Massachusetts, according to local authorities.
District Attorney Tim Cruz confirmed at a news conference that a man died
on an "unthinkable morning."
Christopher Burns, director of trauma at South Shore Hospital, explained that they have several patients with life- or limb-threatening injuries and that several of them are undergoing surgery, according to the NBC affiliate in Boston.

The dark-colored car collided with the windows of the Apple store at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham, in the greater Boston area, NBC News reported, citing local authorities.

The vehicle drove directly through the rear of the store, trapping shoppers and employees.
It was driven by a man who has not been identified by authorities, who did clarify that the incident was being treated as a criminal investigation.
