Based on its social responsibility and its permanent role in advocating and directing the energies of individuals, the community beacons of the Syrian Trust for Development have attracted since the beginning of the year 2022 about two hundred children and young people with special needs through the establishment of a set of targeted activities under the supervision of specialized trainers.
In a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Municipality indicated that the activities provided by the community beacons for this group in society included lessons to strengthen students of the preparatory and secondary certificates, training in computer use and life skills, noting that it sought through its various programs to integrate them into society by subjecting them to special training. It helps them learn certain professions, which qualifies them for equal access to job opportunities.
The Municipality pointed out that programs have been allocated to help parents deal with their children, educate them and rehabilitate them at home, in addition to launching trainings that take into account their privacy, and improve the ability of the environment to interact with them by teaching them sign language.
