Salva Kiir, the president who has ruled the country since its independence in 2011, could not hold back during an official event - and a puddle formed under him • According to the authorities, the journalists did not prevent the video from being leaked to the general public

Six journalists in South Sudan were arrested after a video was circulated in recent weeks in which President Salva Kiir is seen losing control of his body and throwing his water during an official event, the local journalists' union said today (Saturday).

In the video, which, as mentioned, has already received widespread circulation in recent weeks on social networks, you can see how a puddle of what looks like urine forms under the 71-year-old Kier as he stands to sing the national anthem at the event to launch a new road.

The video was not broadcast in the official media, so apparently the authorities are furious about the leak, literally.

The arrested journalists are from the country's state channel and are officially suspected of "possessing information about the way in which the video of the president throwing his water on himself was distributed."

Sudan's information minister and a government spokesman declined to give an official statement to CNN's request.

Kiir has been president since South Sudan gained independence in 2011. Sudanese authorities have long insisted that rumors that his health has deteriorated are untrue.
