INFO LE FIGARO – The presidential Renaissance party reinvested its twelve outgoing senators on Monday, without waiting for the outcome of negotiations with its MoDem and Horizons allies.

This is the first clash in negotiations that have only just begun.

Eight months before the senatorial elections in September, the leaders of the presidential Renaissance party (ex-LREM) have chosen to launch their troops in the campaign, without waiting for an agreement with their allies Horizons and Democratic Movement (MoDem).

They reinvested their twelve outgoing senators on Monday *, during the back-to-school executive office chaired by the boss of the macronist formation, Stéphane Séjourné.

The seats subject to this renewal of the Senate by half are concerned - in departments 37 (Indre-et-Loire) to 66 (Pyrénées-Orientales), those of Île-de-France, six overseas territories and for six French senators abroad.

A way to lock places deemed threatened by the ambitions of MoDem and Horizons partners.

“These twelve elected officials are loyal, they have worked and they have the legitimacy of universal suffrage,

” explains Renaissance spokesperson Loïc Signor.
