Georgia Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency in the state due to riots that erupted in Atlanta last week after an environmental activist was shot dead by a policeman.
The American newspaper, The Hill, stated that “the state of emergency will remain in place until the ninth of February, unless it is extended.”
Riots broke out in Atlanta on the eighteenth of this month after a demonstrator was killed by law enforcement authorities in the state during a protest rally against the establishment of a training center in the city.
