Eyewitnesses at the scene of the attack at the synagogue in the neighborhood of Neve Ya'akov in Jerusalem said this evening (Friday) that when the incident began, they called the police for many minutes, but they did not answer them.
"We heard the attack, someone ran to call the police and it took them more than fifteen minutes to arrive."
Another eyewitness who was at the place where the terrorist was caught, said that police forces were present about a kilometer from the incident due to riots that occurred at that time in Beit Hanina.
"We heard gunshots from the nearby synagogue," he said.
"We locked the synagogue, and I went to get a weapon. My friend from the rescue team was there and the terrorist shot in his direction - luckily he was not hit."
