Today, the Abbasid Shrine in Iraq announced the dispatch of a convoy of humanitarian aid, including 76 vehicles, to provide relief to the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

The Secretary-General of the shrine, Mustafa Dia al-Din, said in a speech reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The convoy set off from the al-Abbas's shrine today loaded with various types of food, medical and service aid to provide the necessary needs for those affected by the earthquake as soon as possible."

The head of the Department between the Two Holy Mosques, Nafeh al-Musawi, explained that “the convoy includes 76 vehicles of various types and sizes, carrying hundreds of tons of aid, including food and medical supplies, clothes, bedding and blankets, in addition to tons of fuel and two medical detachments with a total of 220 paramedics and 25 tents.”
