Swipe against the showmaster: When Günther Jauch jokes about the mother of a “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” candidate, she counters with a cheeky saying.

Hürth – Günther Jauch (66) has been moderating “Who wants to be a millionaire?” since September 3, 1999 and has already driven countless would-be millionaires to despair with tough questions.

As is well known, the showmaster cannot resist one or the other cheeky saying and joke in favor of the candidates.

In a new episode of the RTL quiz show, however, a studio guest proves to be more than his equal – and counters at lightning speed.

Mother of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" candidate makes the audience freak out with a Jauch swipe

In "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"

Sebastian Körner (39) is still at the very beginning of the quiz ladder and has to answer the 500 euro question - but he doesn't miss the opportunity to introduce Günther Jauch to his mother, who is sitting proudly behind him.

A mischievous reaction from his counterpart is of course not long in coming.

"Ma'am," he scoffs at the practice manager, "wouldn't you be so slow to retire?"

Sebastian's mom doesn't let this cheeky statement throw her off course and, full of conviction and without batting an eyelash, she hands out against the TV veteran: "Just like you." Günther Jauch certainly didn't see this tip coming and while the audience erupts in thunderous laughter and shouts, he too can't help but grin.

"If your son really goes home with 500 euros, you'll get another 500 from me," he says, visibly impressed.

"Who wants to be a millionaire?" not only a hit in Germany - TV show with several offshoots:

Not only in this country has "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" been a real ratings hit for years, the TV show originally from Great Britain (there: "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?") has also developed into a real mass phenomenon internationally.

The quiz show has been licensed in over 100 countries worldwide, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Vietnam, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland.

The program sequence, the optics and the music are often almost identical.
