The family of a 17-year-old man who has been missing since April 2 after jumping into the water while being chased by police has filed a complaint for "failure to
assist a person in danger
", a- we learned Sunday from the Strasbourg prosecutor's office.
The young man, who was traveling on Sunday April 2 with two of his cousins in a stolen vehicle in the district of the city of Ill, had fled to avoid a police check.
He had finally jumped, at night, into the Ill, the river that borders Strasbourg, to escape the police.
A procedure for worrying disappearance had then been opened, and divers from the fire brigade had intervened the same evening, imitated by the river brigade the next day.
Searches have so far failed to locate the teenager.
The two other young men present in the vehicle, one an adult, the other a minor, were heard during the week under police custody.
They were released without prosecution at this stage, the investigation is continuing.
