Cristian Sicuro
, the 27-year-old waiter at the
Maffei restaurant in Verona
who was beaten on the evening of
Tuesday 4 April
just for having defended another employee while he was serving at the tables, he is still tried by what happened.
It all happened in the very central historic restaurant in
Piazza delle Erbe
, one of the best known in the city: the waiter was first punched and then hit with a centerpiece that was thrown at him.
He suffered a massive cut under his right eye and a bruise to his eye.
After the attack, he underwent an operation on the nasal septum, under general anesthesia.
In the meantime, the police have already closed the circle around the attackers:
the police officers have already identified the 26-year-old woman
who took part in the action, a resident of
Guidonia, in the province of Rome
, who has been reported for injuries.
The identification of her was made possible through the images of the cameras of the restaurant provided by the owner and their comparison with the photos on social networks.
The investigations, now in the hands of the mobile team, are also leading to the identification of the man, also from Guidonia, who hit the waiter first and who allegedly fled.

Cristian's colleague, who prefers to remain anonymous, underlines that
the evening had presented itself as 'difficult' from the beginning
, precisely due to the too noisy presence of the party, divided into two groups divided into two tables in the cellar of the club.
The Mafferi is known in Verona for the presence of some visible Roman remains and for keeping hundreds of fine bottles of wine.
Probably thanks to a few too many glasses of alcohol, the group had moved some very expensive magnums from the shelves.
Not happy, she started harassing a waitress with sexist phrases, who was forced to bend down to pick up a plate of pasta that had flown to the floor.
Everyone had been asked, politely, to moderate themselves, but at the time of the exit, the situation worsened.
"I was discussing calmly with a young man at a table who had been a nuisance throughout the dinner - recalls Cristian -. Suddenly he struck me".
The waiter was hit by at least one punch and ended up on the ground.
When he got up, it was the girl who attacked him again, breaking a centerpiece on his nose.
The police officers, who intervened immediately, managed to identify the woman and her two daughters, as well as an adult.
In the meantime
Cristian was transported to the Borgo Trento hospital
where on Friday he underwent an initial operation for the reconstruction of the nasal septum and three stitches were applied to his eyebrow, with a 30-day prognosis.
A second plastic surgery operation will be needed to restore his former face.
