Anna Redl would never have thought that she would one day grow so old.
On Thursday she celebrated her 100th birthday in the Tölzer Josefistift.
Bad Tölz – The jubilarian did not have a special wish for her day of honor.
"Just health, that's the most important thing," she says.
Nevertheless, Redl's room in the retirement home is like a dovecote.
Many well-wishers stop by and cheer the jubilee, because after all, you don't turn 100 every day.
No one in her family has ever lived that old either.
to be young again?
"For God's sake!"
But to be young again, Redl no longer wants that.
"For God's sake, no!" she says.
"Then I would have to work again and would have no money."
Redl originally comes from Straubing.
She came to Tölz because, as a nanny, she looked after her sister's children, who lived here.
Later she worked as an assistant in the Tölz hospital and distributed food to the patients, for example.

Redl used to go to the Eichmühle to swim every day
The old lady likes to think back to the past: "I used to go to the Eichmühle to swim every day," she says.
She would still like to swim today, "but that's not possible." The 100-year-old was also often drawn to the mountains.
Jubilarian still knows exactly what she wants
There was no big celebration on Thursday.
But a fine menu for the birthday child.
Fried eggs for breakfast, semolina dumpling soup and a turkey schnitzel with potato and tomato salad for lunch and an orange cake in the afternoon.
Even though Redl can no longer swim or hike, she still knows exactly what she wants: "There could have been a few more onions on the tomato salad," she says.
