These are the words, full of emotion, which can be read in the letter that a father imprisoned in the Trani prison entrusted to the chaplain of the prison, Don Raffaele Sarno, together with some origami made with his own hands using colored paper and lots of Love.
Puppets that have been donated, thanks to the 'Apleti Ets' association, to children hospitalized in the Pediatric Oncohaematology department of the Polyclinic of Bari.
"I was contacted by a prison inmate who told me that he had a son with diabetes and who wanted to give a smile to other children who are facing a path of disease. And it was very nice not only that he made Superman, Minnions and other little animals but who did it with the sole aim of giving joy", explains Don Raffaele.
Origami has become an expression of redemption for a man rather than a father, who is waiting to pay off his debt with the law in order to ease his child's days.
"It was a very nice thought because - adds the priest - where so often a mentality that I define as predatory is affirmed, a mentality of solidarity, closeness, sharing above all in pain prevailed".
"This means breaking certain taboos, breaking certain mentalities because those who have caused suffering through the crimes committed - he concludes - intend to change their perspective of life by transforming the evil done into good".
