Eight people died in a fire that occurred overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic.

,” the South Moravian region fire department said on Twitter, adding that the causes of the fire were under investigation.

," Brno police spokesman Pavel Svab told AFP.
He added that identification of the victims was still ongoing.
