Authorities said Saturday afternoon that they were responding to a shooting at a Texas mall, without immediately providing details on the extent of the shooting.
The Dallas Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said on Twitter that its employees were responding to an "active shooter" incident at
the Allen Premium Outlets shopping center
in the city of Allen, about 25 miles to the north. of Dallas.
The Allen Police Department said on Twitter that its officers were conducting an "ongoing active investigation" at the shopping center.
"Please avoid the area until further notice," the agency tweeted.
It was not immediately clear if the situation was under control or if police had arrested any suspects.
There was also no information about possible victims.

Sgt. Jessica Pond of the Collin County Sheriff's Office told The New York Times that "there are possibly some injuries," without elaborating.
The Allen Premium Outlets shopping center has more than 100 discount stores, according to its website.
The city of Allen, which belongs to Collin County, has just over 100,000 inhabitants.
