At least seven people were killed this Sunday on a highway in Brownsville, Texas, in what police described as a "serious" vehicle accident, local media reported.
The incident occurred around 8:30 am near the intersection of Minnesota Road and Austin Road, located between the airport and Interstate 48, the CBS4 station reported in Valley Central.
The number of deaths was confirmed by local media, citing police sources, but the police have not officially reported it.

Martín Sandoval, a Brownsville Police lieutenant, indicated at noon on the agency's official Facebook page that a "serious accident" had taken place.
He did not offer further details.
"We got a call around 8:30 am about an accident," he said, saying the area had been closed to traffic.

According to CBS4, a woman driving through the area saw several bodies lying on the street and a victim being loaded into an ambulance.
The local Noticias Telemundo station in McAllen said the driver of a car, whom it described as a young person, "fatally" ran over several people on the highway, was arrested and is receiving medical attention.
He added that several other people are hospitalized after the crash.
