'I have teeth, boludo': Edwin Cardona and a tasteless response to a fan who accused him of being overweight

Suddenly the atmosphere became tense between the players and the fans of Racing, product of the low performance that the team trained by Fernando Gago is having in the Professional Football League. The players are at the center of criticism after having lost seven of the last eight matches played by the Academy for the domestic tournament.

One of those targeted since he arrived at the institution in January 2022 is the Colombian Edwin Cardona, who this Sunday had a tense cross with a fan prior to the unexpected and painful 3-0 defeat suffered by the Avellaneda team against Platense at the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium.

Since Gago buckled him as a reinforcement he could never settle as a player chosen for the coach's starting eleven. Moreover, at the end of 2022, he was out of the Pintita call for not reaching the required weight in the balance. Angry with Cardona, the academic fans use that theme to attack him and, apparently, the Colombian does not like it at all.

Yesterday, Sunday, the Racing players had barely arrived at the stadium located in Vicente López and some fans approached the fence to see the moment in which they descended from the bus. Thus, one of those present at the fence where the players enter shouted loudly: "Cardona, you are fatter than me."

True to his style, the midfielder with a past in the Colombian National Team did not hesitate for a second and responded without a filter by resorting to a physical characteristic of who aggravated him. "I have teeth, boludo," reacted the footballer, who after his answer launched a laugh.

It is not the first time that Cardona responds to the criticism he receives. The closest antecedent of the footballer with the fans of the Academy occurred in September of last year, when a large part of the fans present in the Cylinder of Avellaneda whistled and shouted against him for the football level. As on this occasion, the footballer did not keep anything and responded by gesturing to those who attacked him.
