2023-05-15T20:57:37.810Z

Highlights: Boris Pistorius is the most popular German minister, according to a new poll. Robert Habeck has the lowest level of satisfaction with his work. Annalena Baerbock (Greens) is second in the poll. Almost half of those surveyed said they were very dissatisfied with the traffic light coalition of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP. The market and opinion research institute Ipsos conducted the survey online with 1000 eligible voters between the ages of 18 and 75. The survey took place between May 5 and 7, 2023.

Robert Habeck was once the most popular German minister. Those days are over – he crashes in a poll and is overtaken by Boris Pistorius.

Berlin - Boris Pistorius is on top, for Robert Habeck it goes steeply downhill: This is the result of a new survey on satisfaction with German politicians. According to the survey, citizens in the federal government rate the work of Defense Minister Pistorius best.

More Green gossip: Pistorius scores in the poll ahead of Habeck – Baerbock is second

Around 30 percent of respondents are very satisfied with the SPD minister, according to a survey by the market and opinion research institute Ipsos. Almost 25 percent said they were very dissatisfied with his work. Pistorius is thus the only head of department who has a positive balance (+8) in terms of the difference between satisfied and dissatisfied citizens. The Minister of Defence is facing major challenges – because his Bundeswehr urgently needs modern equipment and weapons.

Annalena Baerbock (Greens) can look forward to second place: The foreign minister ranks behind Pistorius despite losses. While 23 percent were still very satisfied with their work in March, the figure is currently 20 percent.

Robert Habeck in the criticism: Germans dissatisfied according to survey

The situation is quite different with Baerbock's party colleague Robert Habeck. The Minister of Economic Affairs and Vice-Chancellor is currently unable to score points. More than half of the citizens are very dissatisfied with his work. "No other member of the Federal Cabinet currently has a greater proportion of very dissatisfied people," the institute said. Habeck has recently been in the spotlight, among other things, because of the Graichen affair.

In addition, the respondents rated the federal government negatively overall. Almost half of those surveyed said they were very dissatisfied with the traffic light coalition of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP. (CGSC with dpa)
