The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection informed the traveling public and local authorities on Tuesday evening that entering streams in northern Israel may be dangerous. This followed exceptional results in water sampling to examine the state of pollution in the streams.
According to tests carried out yesterday, May 15, several streams in the north found results that exceeded the Health Ministry's recommendations and indicated the presence of contamination in the water. According to the Ministry of Health, up to 400 fecal coli can be allowed in 100 ml of water. Results higher than these were found in some of the streams, and therefore the Ministry of Health announced the following guidelines.
