When the ABC News film crew heard cries of distress coming from a basement, they didn't hesitate to help the doggie. Initially, the team of journalists was reporting to cover the damage of the tornado that hit a small Texas town on May 14, which killed two people and injured nearly eleven.

The ABC team had previously contacted animal welfare services. But instead of waiting for them, one of the technicians did not hesitate to grab a shovel to dig into the foundation and clear the animal's head. The dog was finally able to put the truffle back in the fresh air while he had been stuck under the rubble for long hours. Journalists also gave him a piece of dried meat to lure him outside.
