The Santa Fe Justice investigates the murder of a historic leader of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), Aldo Viscovich (68), who was found murdered with a knife in his home in the town of Chovet, police and judicial sources reported today.
Viscovich's body was found by his brother, Tomás, at his home in Spain, half a block from the substation of the town of Chovet, a small commune of 2,500 inhabitants located in the General López Department of the southwest of this province.
Although the result of the autopsy was not yet known, the first report of the forensic doctor detected a stab cut at the height of the victim's neck, sources in the case said.
The prosecutor investigating the incident, Vanina Servidio Pozzi, ordered an autopsy to determine if Viscovich suffered other cuts on his body, the spokesmen added.
The body of the former leader of the Agrarian Federation was found on Thursday at noon at his home in Chovet, in the center of that small town, which was shocked by the news.
Police sources explained that the person who attacked the rural producer would have entered through the back of the house, in which there is a patio.
When officers arrived at the property, alerted by the victim's brother, the body was lying on the floor behind a divider cabinet, in a pool of blood.
The man was dressed in a T-shirt, in underpants and with only one sneaker, so investigators believe the attack occurred that day in the early morning.
As a detail, they indicated that he had removed the sheet of the almanac corresponding to Thursday, May 18.
The main hypothesis of the Public Prosecutor's Office is that it could have been an attempted robbery, although the sources clarified that for the moment "none is ruled out."
According to forensic expertise released Saturday, the man received several fatal wounds, including one in the area of the "neck, trachea, artery and veins." He also received a second "in the chest that punctured the lung, leaving it with two liters of blood" in this organ.
According to the newspaper Sur 24, there were other cuts "minimal defense, with knife cuts" and "a strong blow to the left eye." All the wounds were made "with a large knife."
The man's death was caused by "bleeding bleeding, stab wounds in the neck and chest," says the preliminary report, which is already in the hands of the Prosecutor's Office.
The forensic study highlighted that it was possible to rescue "genetic material under the victim's fingernails with the aim of conducting DNA study." It is estimated that it may belong to the aggressors.
Viscovich was known beyond Chovet for his union participation as a small and medium producer in the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA) and maintained links with Argentine Federated Farmers (AFA).
