The municipalities in the Tölzer Land region are very happy about a good booking situation during the Whitsun holidays. A boom can be seen especially on the first weekend.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – plenty of sun, multifaceted events and the start of the holidays. Whether it's a US car meeting, rose days or a trip to the mountains: the Tölzer Land has a lot to offer at the beginning of the Whitsun holidays. This can also be seen in the booking situation. "Since it was clear that the weather would be good, the phone didn't stop ringing," says Brita Hohenreiter, Tölz's spa director. Especially in the first half of the holidays, the beds in Bad Tölz are already largely occupied. "Due to the Rose Days, we have many exhibitors and guests who stay overnight," she says. The tourist information office has already asked the hosts to report all free beds. Occasionally there are still overnight accommodations. "But it's going to be tight," says Hohenreiter.

U.S. Car Meeting, Rose Days and Food Festival: Many events in Bad Tölz

Due to the density of events, the spa director expects many day trippers, especially on the Whitsun weekend. "All our infrastructure facilities, the Blombergbahn, the outdoor swimming pool and the like, are also running at full speed," she says. But it is not only at the beginning of the holidays that Hohenreiter hopes for many holidaymakers. "There's a food festival on the last weekend, so there's going to be a lot going on."

The situation in the Isarwinkel is no different. Maria Bader, head of the Lenggries Tourist Information Office, says: "We are working at full capacity, especially many families have announced their attendance." Most would have booked longer stays. "During the Pentecost holidays, it is common for families to stay for a week or more."

Lenggries: Many families

The municipality has a varied program for children, families and adults. "The evening hike to the Denkalm and the herb safari are particularly popular in the children's programme," explains Bader. In addition, there are two new events for adults. They can book a guided e-mountain bike tour on site - there are various challenging routes here. For the first time, the TI is also offering the guided tour "Secret of Water" with water therapist Lucia Ossiander-Kukuljan. It's about the effect of the water on the body and also about which different drinking waters are good for whom," says Bader.

Mixed clientele in the Jachneau

Sonja Eichbichler is in charge of the guest information in the Jachenau. Even in the smallest municipality in the district in terms of population, people are prepared for full holiday apartments and guest houses. "We still have a bit of air, but not much left," says Eichbichler, looking at free rooms. Many families would spend their Pentecost holidays in the Jachenau. "Most of them stay for a week or two." But couples and solo travelers are also registered. "The clientele of guests is mixed. From young to old, everything is there."

Benediktbeuern is also satisfied with the booking situation. Sabine Rauscher from the guest information says: "We are very happy that the weather is finally better and hopefully many holidaymakers and locals will use the Alpenwarmbad." In the first week of the holidays, all apartments are occupied. Many bookings had already been made some time ago. "People tend to plan their holidays more long-term again," says Rauscher.

Thomas Holz: "The trend towards short-term bookings remains."

In the most tourism-intensive municipality, Kochel am See, there are different experiences in booking behavior. When asked, Mayor Thomas Holz says: "The booking situation is relatively good. There are only vacant rooms left in Kochel am See and a few holiday apartments in the whole municipality." He continues: "Due to the bad weather in recent weeks, potential guests are obviously still waiting to see how the weather develops." The employees at the tourist information office would receive this again and again as feedback. Therefore, the head of the town hall sums up: "The trend of short-term bookings remains."
