The willingness of extremist political elements in Germany to carry out violent acts is increasing, according to the annual report of the Federal Constitutional Protection Agency (the German Shin Bet). The number of acts of violence by far-right activists increased by 2022.7% in 5, including two attempted murders. The number of violent offenses attributed to the far right last year stood at about 23,500, the report said.
The document also indicates a 14.5% increase in the number of far-right activists in Germany, which now stands at 38,800. This increase is mainly due to their inclusion on the list of far-right activists from the right-wing nationalist Alternative for Germany party, defined by the Federal Constitutional Protection Agency as a threat to the constitution.

The number of far-left activists in Germany also rose by 5.2% last year to 46,500. The number of criminal offenses attributed to far-left extremists decreased significantly last year: a decline of 37%.
