After President Biden pressured Prime Minister Netanyahu to pass the law to reduce reasonableness with broad agreement, the Prime Minister's Office reported today (Wednesday) a cordial and warm meeting between Netanyahu and Chinese Ambassador to Israel Chai Ron. The ambassador told the prime minister that President Xi expects a meeting with him later this year in Beijing.
The Chinese president even sent Prime Minister Netanyahu, through the ambassador, his book, along with his handwritten signature. The ambassador also said that President Xi said that he read with interest and appreciation what Netanyahu wrote in his book on Israel-China relations. At this stage, no date has been set for the meeting between the two, but it seems that it will take place after the holidays. China is America's strategic rival, and in the public invitation to the meeting, China signals its desire to get closer to Israel.

Last week, Biden spoke with Netanyahu and the two agreed to meet later this year. It is believed that this meeting will take place as part of the UN General Assembly to be held in New York at the end of September, in the midst of the High Holidays.
