A man was shot dead on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, July 27 near the sensitive city of Paternelle, in the northern districts of Marseille, considered a high place of drug trafficking that plagues the city.

Already thirty deaths this year
Several victims have already been counted this year: on 31 May, a 35-year-old man was shot dead; On March 29, the bullet-riddled body of a 20-year-old man was found on an adjacent vacant lot and on February 24 a man in his forties was shot near the deal point known as the "Old Mill", one of the three main ones in the city.
The first shooting of the year, on January 1, had already taken place near the "Vieux Moulin" at La Paternelle. A 26-year-old man was seriously injured and shot in the back. According to an AFP report, nearly 30 people have lost their lives this year during the settling of scores against a backdrop of drug trafficking.
