Last night (Tuesday), the mayor of Tamra, Dr. Suheil Diab, joined a list of officials in Arab local authorities who were targets of criminal organizations. The suspects, who were riding a motorcycle, entered his yard and fired at the front door. In addition, shots were fired at the municipality building and the building was damaged.
This morning, near Kibbutz Yas'our on the main road, not far from the city of Tamra, three suspects were arrested – Abdel Hamid Buqa'i (34) and Wadi' Trabelsi (19) from Tamra and Shahin Muhammad (18) from Jadida Makr. They were brought during the day for a hearing on a request to extend their detention at the Haifa Magistrate's Court.

"At the time of the shooting, I was with the acting mayor at a meeting, the police informed me that a motorcycle had arrived and they fired at my house," Dr. Suheil Diab told Israel Hayom. "I was chosen to serve the people of Tamra. There were no threats in the past, I will not surrender to any threat. I hope that the Israel Police will bring order to Arab society to collect weapons and only it can enforce the law.
