This is an extraordinary journey tailored for the course participants and in cooperation with the IDF, with one goal – deepening the students' moral connection to the history of the State of Israel and the combat heritage of the Armored Corps.

Hoping to strengthen values

Each of the four days of the journey, the 42 soldiers participating in the journey will face different circles of identity: "me as commander," "me and the army," "me and the state," and "me and Judaism." All this while touring sites and holding dialogue circles whose goal is to deepen the connection to that site and understand what they mean to them as individuals. Among the significant sites are Mount Bental and the Valley of the Beka.

Armored Officers Course Company Commander, Major Nir Potel: "The cooperation with Israeli Journey during Command Week in the Armored Officers Course almost naturally connects the professional engagement with combat leadership, including improving and sharpening the leadership capabilities of the future Commander of his platoon, alongside the connection and deepening the basket of values with which he arrives at the position, from a personal and group perspective on himself as an individual, as an Israeli and as a leader."

Ido Aharonovitch, Director of the Israeli Journey, said: "We are happy to be part of such an important cooperation with the IDF. I have no doubt that connecting the soldiers to the values and history of the State of Israel is a significant task for us and a significant journey for them. We hope that together with the student trips we publish, we will succeed in strengthening the most important values of all, especially today – mutual respect, knowledge of the other and love of country."
