Defense Minister Yoav Galant and his ministry's Director General, Maj. Gen. (res.) Eyal Zamir, signed the sale of the Arrow 3 system to Germany on Thursday. This is Israel's largest defense deal, in which Germany will pay Israel NIS 14 billion.

Minister Galant, son of Holocaust survivor Fruma Galant, was received by the German Ministry of Defense to the sound of the song of hope and laid a wreath in memory of fallen Germans. Later, the official signing ceremony was held, during which he signed a joint declaration with his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius, to strengthen security ties between Israel and Germany.
The system was developed by IAI, whose leaders showed up this morning for the signing ceremony. IAI CEO Boaz Levy, son of a Holocaust survivor and father of the Arrow program, said: "IAI is proud of the signing of the agreement with Germany and of leading the Arrow project to defend against ballistic missile attacks, also in Europe. The Arrow weapon system is the first in the world to enable the interception of ballistic missiles, outside the atmosphere, to defend against strategic threats, whose capabilities have been proven over the years."
