It is one of the main arteries in Judea and Samaria, with more than 250,<> residents traveling on it. Along it there are several points where there are terrorist incidents, among them the village of 'Azzun, which under my pressure was chosen to be one of the three points in the Central Command for the army's focus. The IDF invests a great deal of forces both inside and outside the field, and we see that with the arrival of the forces there is a decrease in stone throwing, although there still are.

We must not agree to any stone throwing and to a situation in which a driver or resident is afraid to drive, and therefore our demand from the IDF is to constantly change the method and ease the issue of shooting and the open-fire procedure, because today they hardly shoot at stone throwers. You really have to capture a very specific moment, and that makes it easier for the terrorists, who know that no one will shoot them.
There is no doubt that public transportation has become a target, which is why today the IDF is focusing on it. At the same time, we are constantly on the axis. Not a day goes by that we don't go over the axis, scan it and increase our presence in it.

We welcome any volunteering. Immediately after the holiday, we will try to convene the residents who initiated the stay on the route in order to settle the matter and prevent an incident of bilateral shooting by civilians and soldiers. The responsibility lies solely with the IDF. The army is the sovereign in the field, and it must provide the security response. It is not the job of citizens to defend themselves, because that is how anarchy is created.
I trust the IDF, the commanders, the soldiers, because in the end they – it's us. We need to give them all the tools to succeed, and I believe they will. And wherever they succeed, we'll press for it to happen.
