Like a captive who stands on his own two knees and begs for his life with a gun pointed at the center of his head, Israeli democracy is currently fighting for its life. The gun is held in a confident hand, not shaking for a moment, by the protesters from Kaplan and their friends.
The captives, contrary to popular belief, are by no means Rothman and Levin. Nor did Netanyahu and the members of the government. Gantz, Lapid and the rest of their fellow leftists are also kneeling, not understanding how they unwittingly turned from captive to captive, and how their political fate and the fate of the entire country were abandoned to a handful.
Yes, it is a handful. It doesn't matter if it's a thousand or 100,<> people, it's still a fraction of the entire State of Israel, deciding when the roads will open and close here and when we will be able to fly from Ben Gurion Airport, and working full-time libel the entire country overseas.
"Don't believe them," a handful of Kaplan shouted loudly, claiming that Netanyahu and Levin were only putting the reform into a summer slumber in order to renew it after the holidays. But the reality is different – the entire Israeli right may have made sounds of falling asleep, but in reality it has fallen into a deep sleep while the country cracks beneath its feet.
This is not reform, stupid. This is all of Israeli democracy. And she's on her knees, with a gun pointed in front of her eyes. And those who still thought that this was one law or another discovered that while we tried to give up in order to preserve the integrity of the people, they continued to tear this nation apart.
The Israeli right must exit the market and understand that we are in a reversal of trend. By the time the reform has passed away, the protests are only intensifying. It is more violent, unrestrained, destructive to all of us.
Soon another decisive point will come, in the local elections, and as it stands now, Israel, which aspires to democracy, will lose there as well. Just as the protesters have shown impressive organizational abilities in the face of the drowsiness and smugness of the right, so too may be the case here. They have taken key positions at polling stations, much money is poured into local protest movements, and a well-organized army will run the field day headquarters of the protesters.
And after they take over the local government, the road to national government will be short and organized, with no backlash from the other side. The other side, as noted, does not include only the Likud and right-wing parties. Gantz and Lapid, too, have long since lost control of the steering wheel and remain standing on the sidelines – persona non grata among the demonstrators on one side, herders without a herd on the other. And don't let the polls blind you, I know a few that have been obscured by the polls. Believe me, it passes with the results of the truth.
For many months I believed in the middle way and compromise, I even took a central part in several such initiatives, but as time passed, I realized that the dogs were barking and the convoy of demonstrators was passing. The sane majority in the State of Israel should give Gantz and Lapid an ultimatum: Either you lift the boycott and establish an emergency national government, or we will stand up and act.

As one of the lessons of the past, we will act against them with respect and suspicion. We will give them an opportunity to take the right step, but we will raise our heads and prepare the infrastructure for the battle to restore democracy and identity to the State of Israel.
For almost a year we have been raped in our country: are we being threatened with the flight of doctors? We will establish a new doctors' organization; Are we being threatened with pilot refusal? We will establish a reserve of pilots that will be correct on the day of an order; Are we threatened with the decline of scientists? We will recruit leading and renowned scientists from Israel and abroad.
There will not be a single elite that will threaten the common people, we will not lend our hand to a coup attempt that has been consciously working for many months in tearing the people apart and splitting a religious brother against a secular brother, a right-wing brother with a left-wing brother.
