A happy ending to the affair that shook New York State: Charlotte Senna, a 9-year-old girl from New York State, was rescued alive from a trailer where she was being held by a kidnapper who demanded a ransom from her parents.
According to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, police tracked down the kidnapper thanks to fingerprints he left on the ransom letter he himself forwarded to the girl's parents. The suspect was seen by witnesses delivering the letter to the parents' mailbox late at night.

Hochul added that two SWAT units raided the trailer where the girl was being held and arrested the kidnapper. The kidnapper, a 37-year-old man named Craig Nelson Ross, sustained minor injuries after trying to resist arrest. The girl was found in his trailer after the arrest, during a police search.
Senna was handed over to her parents and footage released by NBC News shows her family clapping for the police who returned the girl.
The girl was abducted during a camping trip with her parents, after she moved away from the camp area. Her disappearance led to extensive searches in the nearby forests, but the searches turned up nothing.
