The Jerusalem March, the largest and oldest march in Israel, which has become a tradition on Chol Hamoed Sukkot, was launched today (Wednesday). Tens of thousands of participants from Israel and about 90 countries from around the world are expected to participate in the march.

This year, participants will pass through natural and tourist sites, streams and parks, such as Jaffa Gate, Zion Gate, Yemin Moshe, Valley of the Cross and more. In addition, and for the first time, the morning march will pass through Deer Valley and Nahal Refaim Park. This is an excellent opportunity to visit these sites, participate in the march and enjoy hiking activities with added value.

The Jerusalem Municipality said: "The traditional Jerusalem march is returning for the 68th time. We invite all the city's residents and visitors to come to the traditional Sukkot celebration, breathe the mountain air as clear as wine, walk through Jerusalem's historic landscapes and streets and enjoy festive fanning for children. Come celebrate with us in Israel's cultural capital - Jerusalem."

Morning march routes:

07:00-09:00 - Track A: 10 km long, intended for hikers. The route begins at Mitzpe Rotem (Gilo neighborhood), passes through Khirbet Erza, Nahal Kus, Nahal Refaim Park, HaMesila Park, Almalich Park, Deer Valley, Nayot, Emek HaMitzlava and ends at Sacher Park.

07:30-09:30 - Track B – 8 km long, medium difficulty. It begins at Nahal Refaim Park and continues with the first trail walkers to Sacher Park.

08:00-10:00 Track C: 5 km long, easy difficulty. Suitable for walking with the whole family. It begins at Safra Square, passes through Jaffa Gate, Zion Gate, Habonim Park, Yemin Moshe, the President's House, Rehavia, Emek HaMitzlava and ends at Sacher Park.

Happening at Sacher Park:

After the morning march and during the day, from 10:00 to 16:00, there will be a festive happening at Sacher Park, during which the general public can enjoy a variety of shows, musical ensembles and artists that children love. In the happening area, children are invited to a special area for them with dance performances, inflatables, circus performances, a drummer circle, a magic show, a skilled troupe, dance and singing groups, gymnastics and acrobatics performances and more. In addition, there will be a main performance by singer and songwriter Dudu Aharon.

The festive parade:

The parade will be attended by thousands of marchers from Israel and around the world, including representative groups, marching bands, IDF soldiers, street artists, dance companies and more, who will come to rejoice and delight the residents and visitors of the capital for the 68th time. In addition, a festive delegation from the Christian Embassy will arrive at the march, in which about 2,000 Christians who love Israel from about 90 countries from all over the world will march through the streets of the capital, including Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and more.

The festive parade will start at 15:00 from Bezalel Street, march along Hillel, Ben Sira, King David streets and end at the First Station compound. An honorary podium will be placed on King David Street, where the marchers will be greeted by the mayor, members of the city council and other dignitaries. The parade will end at 17:30 p.m.

Park and Ride parking lots:

• Nahal Scopus parking lot – the new parking lot includes about 1,000 new parking spaces on the light rail's Red Line route, close to the French Hill station. Parking is free.
• Mount Herzl parking lot – on the route of the light rail's red line, close to the Mount Herzl station. Parking is free, subject to light rail rides.

Municipal parking lots:

• Safra Square parking lot - 7 Shivtei Israel St.: operating hours from 7:00 to 16:00 and the fee is 14 NIS. From 19:00 to 7:00 parking is free for "Yerushalmi" holders only.
• Menora parking lot - 3 Menora St.: operating hours between 6:30-1:00 at night. Hourly cost: 14 NIS, for Jerusalem card holders 10 NIS.

For the first time, the municipal bicycle company "Jerufun" will offer all march participants and celebrants a 30% discount on bicycle rentals, between 7:00 and 17:00.
