More than a week after the outbreak of the "Iron Swords" war, Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived at Kibbutz Be'eri on Sunday to witness with his own eyes the terrible scenes caused by Hamas terrorists there.

"This land is saturated with blood. There was life here, there was heaven here that turned into hell," the president said at the beginning of his remarks, against the background of the ruins of the kibbutz houses. "We have a moral and national obligation to return it to paradise. This is a huge must. It is a duty to remember, a duty to families, a duty to bring home the abductees as soon as possible. It's terrible to see this place. We see the magnitude of the monstrous and monstrous cruelty of the enemy. We need to understand that this enemy must be punished with the utmost severity. This enemy must be eliminated with full force."

Herzog also re-inaugurated the factory, which on the day the war broke out suffered a severe blow in the terror campaign of Hamas terrorists – and will resume operation starting tomorrow, thus constituting the first step in the rehabilitation of the kibbutz.

The president reactivated the printing presses and said: "Out of the bereavement, the tears, the terrible pain and the darkness in which this community and all the surrounding communities are located – from here we say to the whole world, 'Nothing will break us.' The Be'eri Printing Factory is the glory, the source of pride of Kibbutz Be'eri. Ben, the factory manager, is here to put the machines back up and running and to say to the world: 'We're here and we're not getting out of here!' We will get life back on track slowly and surely, and we will return to prove to the entire world and to our enemies – you will never break us. The people of Israel are alive."

Herzog later met with IDF fighters deployed in the sector and thanked them for their activities.
