US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Monday night (Monday-Tuesday) after a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu that US President Joe Biden will visit Israel this coming Wednesday.
Biden in historic speech: "We stand with Israel!"
In a statement at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, Blinken said Biden was coming at a "critical time for Israel, the region and the world."
According to Blinken, President Biden will come to strengthen the United States' stand with Israel and the American commitment to national security. Biden will also insist on Israel's commitment to defend itself against terrorism and hear what is required of the Israeli side to do so.
Blinken also stressed that President Biden would reiterate his warning to any country or organization that is thinking of joining the campaign against Hamas to refrain from doing so.
