Jordan's Queen Rania, who is of Palestinian descent, was interviewed Tuesday evening by CNN about the war against Hamas in Gaza. During the interview, Rania strongly criticized Israel and even questioned the atrocities committed by terrorists of the terrorist organizations from Gaza in the communities near the Gaza Strip.

"When the president of the United States said that he saw evidence of children who were beheaded and the IDF said there was no proof, when even CNN reported at the beginning of the conflict that children were massacred on a kibbutz, and when you read the story you don't find independent verification of this, I ask you - will you publish something that is not verified by Palestinians," Rania said. In response, interviewer Christiane Amanpour noted that there was proof of this.

In a world exclusive, @QueenRania of Jordan spoke with me about the ongoing bombing of Gaza, civilian deaths, the massacres of October 7, and what she calls "a glaring double standard" in the west's reaction to all this. Watch our full conversation. pic.twitter.com/68QUO3Vez9

Asked how she has been feeling since October 7, Rania replied: "I can't begin to describe to you the depth of the pain, grief and shock we feel in Jordan. We are all united in this grief. We can't believe the pictures we see every day from the Gaza Strip. We saw mothers who had to write their names on their children's hands so they could identify them if they died."

She added: "Throughout the Middle East, we are disappointed by the world's response to this catastrophe. In recent weeks, we have seen double standards in the world. On October 7, the world stood with Israel and its right to defend itself. But in recent weeks we have seen silence in the world. There are double standards here. This is the first time in modern times that there is such suffering and the world is not even calling for a ceasefire. We continue to support Israel's right to defend itself."

Asked about her feelings about the most brutal massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, the Queen of Jordan replied: "Of course I was shocked and Jordan's position is clear - we condemn the killing of every civilian - Palestinian or Israeli - this is Jordan's moral position. This is also the position of Islam, as the king recently pointed out."

"Yes, there is shock and condemnation, but why isn't it happening now? I want to emphasize that this conflict did not begin on October 7. For many Palestinians on the other side, the war never left. It's a story of 75 years. It's a story of occupation, of an apartheid regime that occupies land and destroys homes and invasions at night."
