On the occasion of the anniversary of Rachel's death, this evening (Wednesday) a prayer and unity ceremony will be held from Zion Rachel's Tomb with the participation of Chief Rabbis Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef and Rabbi David Lau.
The Midrash says that Rachel is able to arouse mercy before G-d on the people of Israel, with the famous verses attributed to her being: "A voice on the level is heard, Nahi cries signs, Rachel weeps for her sons from Anna to console her sons because they are gone. So said D, prevent your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your action, Nam D, and return from an enemy land, and there is hope for your aftermath, Nam D, and return sons to their borders."
These verses provide great comfort, especially these days, when they are guaranteed to return to their borders.
