A 9-story residential building in Petah Tikva suffered a direct hit from a rocket fired in a barrage fired Thursday afternoon at the center of the country and the lowland area. There were no casualties in the incident, but damage was caused.
"The rocket landed from the roof towards a duplex apartment and set a room on fire," said Petah Tikva Fire Station Commander Lt. Col. Alon Shabtai. "Firefighters are in full control of the fire's epicenter. A sapper exonerates the rocket inside the apartment. At the same time, all the residents are being evacuated from inside the building, and they will be able to return to it after the sapper determines that there is no danger from the rocket parts."

Firefighters who arrived at the scene are working to extinguish the fire that broke out in the apartment. In addition, crews are searching for people trapped or injured in nearby apartments and vehicles near the direct impact area.
