On Friday evening (27 October), a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Bogenhausen. The rescue workers were able to prevent worse. All information at a glance.

Munich – When the report "Room fire on the eleventh floor in a high-rise building" was received shortly after 18 p.m. on Friday evening, the emergency services of the Munich fire department were prepared for special circumstances. For the emergency services, such an alarm means "long distances to the source of the fire, a building with many residents, possibly injured people who have to be transported downstairs," according to the fire department's press release. That's why the stakes turned out to be bigger right away.

On site, the emergency services realized that no smoke was visible from the outside. Five firefighters wearing breathing apparatus then advanced to the eleventh floor to get a more accurate picture of the situation. In the meantime, the other emergency services were preparing the extinguishing water feed, according to the statement.

In the apartment in question, the firefighters were then able to identify the source of the fire: a kitchenette was on fire. However, these were quickly deleted. "There were no people in the apartment," the fire department said. To protect the other occupants of the house, the floors above (12-18) were checked. But here, too, the emergency services were able to quickly give the all-clear, according to the statement. A high-performance fan was then used to clear the apartment of smoke.

Property damage cannot yet be quantified. The police have started the investigation into the cause of the fire.
