Israeli intelligence Unit 8200 stopped tapping the radios of Hamas terrorists about a year before the massacre near Gaza, according to a comprehensive investigation published Tuesday by the American newspaper The New York Times.
According to the investigation, intelligence officials abandoned the radio frequencies used by the organization's junior operatives, after concluding that there was no intelligence value in the wiretaps. According to the newspaper, such radios were found in the possession of the terrorists who carried out the massacre in the surrounding communities.
