The family of 22-year-old Shani Luke, who was filmed kidnapped to Gaza from a nature party in Re'im, was informed that she was not alive. The video shows Luke being led to Gaza. Nissim Locke, Shani's father, confirmed to Israel Hayom that the family had been informed.
Luke was a tattoo artist from Germany. In the photos, she appeared unconscious in the final part of a pickup truck, and her family in Germany said they recognized her in part by the unique tattoos on her legs.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my sister, Shani Nicole Locke, z"l, who was on October 7, 2023 at the bloody party in Reim," her sister Adi Locke wrote in an Instagram post.
Shani's cousin, Ruti, said: "We received an official announcement yesterday from the IDF and ZAKA with a written letter telling us that genetic medical information had been found confirming that she was not alive. They consulted with two other experts who ruled on it, as well as with a rabbi."
