The ranks of celebrities expressing support for Israel and mobilizing their voices and social networks to cry out the bloody state are joined by Oscar-winning actor of Jewish origin Michael Douglas.

Douglas, 79, winner of the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys and Genesis Prizes and son of the late Jewish actor Kirk Douglas, shared a post and story on his Instagram account Sunday night calling for the immediate return of the hostages in Gaza.

"Over 200 men, women, children and babies have been taken hostage by Hamas," Douglas wrote in a post shared with his 1.4 million followers, accompanied by a photo of 12-year-old Noam Avigdori, who was kidnapped along with her mother Sharon and is now being held in Gaza. Noam Avigdori is 12 years old and we need to bring her home now. These innocent people are imprisoned in Gaza and no one knows when or if they will return home, not even to their families. From nine-month-old toddlers to elderly Holocaust survivors, they have been brutally uprooted from their loved ones."
