"Hamas rule must end": As part of a project called "Whispered in Gaza" by the Center for Peace Media, which was reported Tuesday night on the American network MSNBC, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip shed light on the corruption and misery of the Hamas regime.

These testimonies receive a platform in parallel with the continuation of the war to topple the terrorist organization's rule and destroy its military capabilities. In recent days, the IDF has expanded its activity in the Gaza Strip and eliminated dozens of terrorists and senior commanders of the organization. Hamas' response is, among other things, internal propaganda that tries to inflate its "achievements" in battle, but internal criticism of inflating these figures is already spreading. Moreover, Hamas threatens hospital directors in the northern Gaza Strip to prevent their evacuation, in part because its headquarters are located in these compounds.

However, in a testimony broadcast on the American network, one of the witnesses is heard saying: "There is a false stereotype that the Palestinians in Gaza love missiles and war. The wars in Gaza are waged by the Hamas government for political reasons that serve only them."

Another Gazan witness says: "If you are a Gazan who opposes war and says, 'I don't want war,' you are labeled a traitor. You can't say you don't want war." It should be noted that despite these statements, many Gazans support Hamas and even celebrated in the streets following the October 7 massacre. Partly due to years of brainwashing.

Still, the project reveals strong criticism of Hamas. "They take advantage of the concept of 'resistance.' Considering that there were wars in 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2020, they profited from it and only the people suffered. Every time there's a war and they get more aid and money, they're the ones who make money and we don't get anything," said another witness from Gaza. Recall that in those years, Israeli governments allowed Qatar to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars to Hamas.

Subsequently, and with the war in full swing, Gazati testified a few days ago (October 18): "The families of Hamas receive professional care. They get more medical attention than anyone else. If someone else needs surgery, then it can take a long time. So that Hamas loyalists will receive treatment first."

The testimonies also shed light on Hamas' brutal oppression. "Our landlord was abused – they were fighting. Every member of my family they caught was sent to prison. They beat and abused them," said another Gazan.

At the end of January, one of the witnesses in the project summed up the realization that permeates at least some Gazans: "Hamas wants a different Palestine than ours, a different project, a different world... There is now the State of Israel with its people, institutions and economy. You can't deny that. Over time, the concept of 'liberation' became a fantasy.

"But in the current situation, in light of the Islamist mentality implanted in the Palestinians in Gaza in particular, it is very difficult to talk about peace. The Palestinians need preparations to become a civil society. But this means, first of all, that the mosque's rule over the people of Gaza must end – and be replaced by an independent government that knows how to run a city. Not a government of clerics."
