Both states are headed by presidents who are not sympathetic to Israel, to say the least, and Chile also has a large and aggressive Palestinian community.
Israel: Bolivia Surrenders to Iranian Regime
The Foreign Ministry announced this morning that "the Bolivian government's decision to sever its relations with Israel is a surrender to terrorism and the regime of the ayatollahs in Iran."

The Bolivian government severed diplomatic relations with Israel in 2009 (Operation Cast Lead). In 2020, during the activity of the interim government in Bolivia, there was an act of symbolic renewal of relations. After the elections in Bolivia, a left-wing Chavist government with extensive ties in Iran returned to power. The actual relationship from 2020 until today has been on paper only. Ambassadors did not submit treaties and there were no political ties between Israel and Bolivia.
Severing relations against the backdrop of Israel's just war on the murderous terrorist organization does not bother senior Foreign Ministry officials, as the actions of those countries are mainly indicative of those who head those countries and choose to side with baby murderers and abductors of women.

Meanwhile, last night the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the IDF Spokesperson, presented a film of Hamas atrocities to about 70 ambassadors and senior diplomats. The foreign staff also received a review of the fighting in Gaza in the context of international law by the Foreign Ministry's legal advisor and representatives of the MAG Corps, and a review of the situation on the ground by a representative of the Coordinator of Activities in the Territories.
