"They surrounded us from a number of places and fired": While about 13 soldiers were killed since the beginning of the ground maneuver in Gaza, fighters of the <>th Battalion of the Golani Brigade won a heroic battle in the Gaza Strip tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) against several terrorist squads that charged at them from tunnel shafts.
The incident began when fighters from the 13th Battalion and armored fighters from the 53rd Battalion encountered terrorists who fired anti-tank missiles at them and detonated many IEDs at them. The fighters fought a prolonged battle with the terrorists coolly under massive fire. During the incident, terrorists tried to climb onto the fighters' tools, and they were eliminated.

Footage released by the IDF Spokesperson after the incident shows the commander of Battalion 13 calling for assistance from the brigade. "We got a significant attack here with missiles and assault attempts," he was heard saying. "It's hard for me to say how many terrorists there are here. I need you to bring fire to the rescue and charge at us. We have to repel the attack on the terrorists, we are grabbing machine guns. Everything is fine in the meantime, the main thing is that they purged the terrorists here. We survive here, we need your help."

Thanks to the preparations and coordination between the forces on the ground, the fighters managed to repel the attack. "We managed to hit them, kill some of them and push back. We activated fire from the air," said Lieutenant Colonel Tomer. "We activated artillery, mortars, and charged at them with the tigers. The result was that they were killed and we continue the maneuver until victory."
At the same time, the ground force directed aircraft and artillery forces for air strikes. The terrorists were eliminated and the danger to force was removed.
