GAP - From March 2024, seeds will be made available to the public free of charge at the Partenkirchen Library in Ludwigstraße, as part of the "Green BIB" project - The Seed Library, which has been initiated by volunteers since October 2021. This seed library allows people to borrow single-variety and seed-resistant seeds to sow at home on the balcony or in the garden. After harvesting, the seeds are to be stored and dried, and then returned to the library like books.

For the coming planting season, seed-resistant seeds of vegetables, flowers and herbs are still needed, excluding hybrid seeds. People who have surplus seeds can hand them in during the opening hours of the Partenkirchen Library, ideally packed in paper bags and with details of the variety, type, year of collection and contact details of the donor. The private initiative is looking forward to any contributions in order to be able to resume lending for all plant-loving citizens from March 2024. The "Green BIB" - The Seed Library in Garmisch-Partenkirchen thus makes an important contribution to the promotion of sustainability and the improvement of the climate. Kb
