The U.S. Legislature on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a proposal to censor remarks made by Rep. Rashida Tlaib after she posted slogans calling for the destruction of the State of Israel on social media.

The resolution passed with 234 lawmakers in favor to 188 against, with 22 Democratic representatives from Tlaib's party voting in favor of the bill. The significance of the censor's decision is mostly symbolic and will not significantly affect the agenda of Tlaib, a Palestinian-American who belongs to her extremist faction of the Democratic Party.

Last week, Tlaib strongly attacked the Biden administration, claiming that it was aiding genocide taking place in the Gaza Strip. Tlaib posted the slogan "From River to Sea" on the social network X, referring to the liberation of Palestine and the destruction of the State of Israel.

"If these things don't deserve censorship, what is? When you call for the destruction of a nation and all its people, if it is not worthy of censorship, tell me what is?" asked Republican Representative Rich McCormick in a speech concluding the vote. McCormick accused Tlaib of "promoting a false narrative about the October 7 attack in a pro-Hamas manner."

Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian demonstrators stormed a speech by Democratic Senator John Fetterman, the eccentric representative of Pennsylvania, claiming that he had "blood on his hands" because of his consistent support for Israel. Fetterman, who continued to speak without referring to the loud protester who attacked him, replied a few seconds later, saying: "The joke is about you, I had a stroke. I couldn't understand any of what you said."

Fetterman did suffer a severe stroke that left him limited in movement and hearing, but despite his health, he managed to win the Senate race. In the weeks since the October 7th attacks, Fetterman has unreservedly sided with Israel. He posted pictures of the abductees in Gaza in his office and called for their release at every opportunity.
