New Delhi police in India said on Tuesday they had launched a search following a report they received of an explosion behind the Israeli embassy located in the Chunkipuri area, the city's diplomatic neighborhood. The Foreign Ministry stressed that there were no casualties.

The explosion was reported to authorities in a phone call by an unidentified person, who claimed it occurred in an empty plot behind the embassy. Police were called there and began searching, but no evidence indicating an explosion has yet been found.
The Foreign Ministry said: "There were no casualties as a result of the explosion and all envoys and embassy employees are well. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation by the local authorities in full cooperation with Israeli security officials."
