Thousands came to the military section of the cemetery in Ra'anana to accompany Capt. Yaron Eliezer Chitz, 23, deputy company commander of the Shaked Battalion, Givati Brigade, who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. Chitiz left behind his parents, three brothers and a sister.

His partner Dre Gansberg eulogized him: "My Yaron, my life, my half, my beloved, my whole world, I chose the pictures so I could upload to your birthday, which was supposed to be next week - but God apparently had other plans. I refuse to believe that you won't be here with me!"
Ra'anana Mayor Haim Broida eulogized him: "Raanana hurts and mourns his fall last night in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. Chitz is a graduate of Yavne School and Bnei Akiva Yeshiva in the city."
