Yango Deli recently began marketing Little Moons - upgraded mochi balls from a British brand, which are considered to be of high quality. The specific product has caused a stir around the world regardless of the popularity that Asian mochi ice cream has gained over the past decade. The trend around it began on TikTok about two years ago and saw people and bloggers trying the product or discovering where to find it due to a shortage in stores.

And for those who are not yet familiar, this is a super aesthetic dessert of balls of fine gelato ice cream in different (and sometimes strange) flavors. They are wrapped in dough made of sweet, soft, stretched and chewy rice flour. Yango Deli first markets it with the four most popular flavors: vanilla, pistachio and honey, passion fruit and mango, dark chocolate and hazelnuts, and blondie.
True, mochi is already available in Israel today, but various culinary experts have defined Little Moons' mochi as the highest quality in the world. Each pill is made from carefully selected ingredients to achieve the exact flavors. The unusual ice cream inside the rice coating is made from fresh milk and cream. It contains no artificial flavors or preservatives. The candy is gluten-free, contains less than 85 calories per ball, and 96% of its packaging is recyclable. And if until now mochi was available mainly in Asian restaurants, now Yango Deli allows Little Mons to be delivered on the front door.

Many are sure that the colorful ice cream balls originated in Japan, but they were actually made in Hawaii. It is named after "mochigoma", a special starchy rice variety. About 30 years ago, a chef in Hawaii created the mochi ice cream as we know it today from American ice cream and made history. In the United States, mochi gained popularity a decade ago, but the English brand of Little Moons became the most popular version around the world, as mentioned, about two years ago.
"Israelis are one of the most traveled nations in the world, and they bring culinary experiences overseas with them to Israel," says Tal Battito, vice president of trade at Yango Deli: "Since there is no reason why ice cream from a post-army trip can only be obtained in South America or the sweet little moons only on urban trips in Europe – we decided to pick up the gauntlet and bring abroad here."
