The Central Command of the US Department of Defense announced Sunday night that naval ships had come to the aid of a vessel in the Red Sea attacked by the Houthis from Yemen.

According to the American announcement, at around 20:30 p.m. TSANA, a container ship belonging to the Danish shipping giant Maersk was attacked with anti-ship ballistic missiles. The attacked ship allegedly flew the Singapore flag and was hit by one missile, but there were no casualties on board and it remained in a navigable condition.

According to the Americans, two missile boats arrived at the scene of the incident and assisted the attacked vessel. The American missile ship Gravelli intercepted two anti-ship ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis.
